‘American Horror Story’ season 6 releases another creepy (and mysterious) poster

Even though “American Horror Story” is only a little more than a month away from premiering on FX, the network continues to be as coy as coy can be when it comes to sharing official clues on the theme! The latest example of that is the poster below, which shows some sort of eyelash-terror that is really hard to describe. Maybe this is deadly mascara or something?

If we really wanted to read into this poster on some sort of hyper-extreme level, maybe we can interpret this in some way to mean that the show is opting to give us something in a reasonably-modern setting given the presence of red lipstick and other makeup. If nothing else, at least this could nullify some of the theories that we are diving several centuries into the past.

Then again, remember that there have certainly been some some posters out there that have duped us before. The real purpose of most of this promo material is to be eye-catching and in some ways shocking, and we do think that this pulls that off perfectly since it causes you to have a conversation.

While we do anticipate at this point the series continuing to give you some sort of air of mystery, we imagine that there’ll be at least a few more details revealed before we get around to the premiere. Otherwise, it’s going to be hard to promote this to a specific group of people. We see this marketing strategy mostly as the network’s way to try and avoid fatigue.
