‘The Fosters’ season 4 spoilers: Brandon’s audition, Mariana’s competition, and more

The fourth season of “The Fosters” is coming close to the end of its summer run, and as we approach that, we have a feeling that things are going to be made all the more difficult for almost every single character on the series. It’s that rare bit of consistency that you can expect in a world that is almost always fluctuating.

If you are looking for a story that has a little bit of hope to it, than look towards Brandon! After getting mired in a SAT scandal that Lena caught him in, he now is preparing for a Julliard audition that could end up changing his life in some ways. To be fair, his life has changed dramatically so far this season, but it’s not something we expected courtesy of Cortney and her child becoming a part of his life.

Elsewhere, things will get very serious when Mariana struggles under the stress of her STEAM robotics competition, something that in turn causes Lena to worry about whether or not her competitive edge is stronger than it should be. Callie’s source of stress is going to be something with greater legal ramifications, as the police may get involved over the amount of time she is spending around Patrick Molloy.

Given that this is not any sort of finale, we don’t anticipate this episode offering up too many answers. Yet, at the same time, here’s hoping we get at least a few teases about where this story could be going the remainder of the season.
