‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18: First photo of Mariska Hargitay, Joe Biden
Earlier this week, the super-exciting news first came out that Vice-President Joe Biden was going to be making an appearance on an upcoming season 18 episode of “Law & Order: SVU” … and now we’ve got photographic proof of that very thing!
In the photo below from series star Mariska Hargitay, you can see both her character of Olivia Benson and Biden filming a scene from an upcoming episode airing early this coming season. Biden has been a key player in the charge to stop domestic violence, and earlier this year he was specifically honored by Hargitay’s own Joyful Heart Foundation. The relationship between the Vice-President and the actress is more than likely how this appearance on “Law & Order: SVU” came about. For him, this is a further chance to promote his platform, and also salute the work that the show does to try to bring awareness to many real-life scenarios.
In addition to posting this photo, Hargitay also had the following to say on her official Twitter:
“The depth of [Biden’s] integrity, commitment, and leadership has come to mean so much to me, to our community, and to survivors. There are no words for [his] commitment on these issues. I am so very fortunate to be able to call him my friend.”
This is not the first time that Biden has appeared on a scripted TV show, as he has turned in an appearance before over on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.” However, at the same time this is one of the first opportunities that he has had to bring his message to a scripted show.
