‘Girl Meets World’ season 3: Disney Channel (sort of) addresses show’s future

Girl Meets World -

While it is still not clear as to whether or not we are going to have a “Girl Meets World” season 4, the folks at the Disney Channel are still working to make one thing rather clear: There is no guarantee at present that season 3 is going to be the last one for the show. For the time being, the sense that we are merely getting is that from a production vantage point, the cast and crew are doing their best to prepare in the event that it is, and they will change things up accordingly if they find out some great news down the line.

In a statement (per TVLine), here is what the network had to say on the show’s future:

“We are wrapping production next week on the third season … With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there’s no news to share yet about a fourth season.”

While we do not always think that fan campaigns work when it comes to saving a show, they are often at least an asset and we do very much think that this could be said for this particular situation. Given that there is already a hint of danger in the air about the show’s future, you are giving the fans more or less a good four-plus months to campaign hard for people to save it. In turn, maybe that will encourage more people to watch live, and also for other suitors to line up in the event that the Disney Channel is ready to say goodbye.
