Netflix renews ‘Flaked’ with Will Arnett for season 2
Today is apparently a day of comedy-series renewals. We reported earlier that “Ballers” would be coming back to HBO for a third season, and now we’re hearing that there is also good news for the Will Arnett – Netflix comedy “Flaked.”
As you can see HERE, the show’s official Twitter account confirmed the season 2 renewal news, which is something that we have been hoping to see announced over the past few weeks. Arnett plays on the show, which he also co-created, a man named Chip who lives an offbeat life in Venice, California, trying to deal with some demons from the past while developing feelings for a woman who his best friend is dating. There are some huge twists that come over the course of the first season, but we won’t spoil those for you here if you haven’t seen it already.
Do we think that “Flaked” season 1 was a perfect show? No, but that may be the point. It was an unconventional series about an extremely flawed guy, and it did not follow almost any traditional pattern. It was challenging, and therefore a fascinating viewing experience. We are curious to see where the story could go now given all of the season 1 twists, and also seeing the general reception from many viewers.
2017 in general could be a very busy year for Arnett, given that there is increasing talk that a fifth season for “Arrested Development,” also for Netflix, could start up production at some point during the year. He also voices the title character on “BoJack Horseman,” which just premiered its third season and has already been renewed for a season 4.
