‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Chase McNary claims there have been ‘discussions’

Will Chase McNary become the next Bachelor? Well, there’s at least a minor possibility of it based on what the medical sales rep, who is currently on “The Bachelorette” this season, is saying.

Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, McNary admitted that there are at least some overtures when it comes to him becoming the series lead down the line. However, he did not necessarily confirm that he was getting hired for the role:

“The discussions are there … But I don’t know — there’s a lot of weight there. There [are] a lot of expectations, and I’m not scared of it … but I definitely want to make the smart decision and the right decision before I totally accept that position.”

Of course, one of the funnier things about these comments is that we’re not quite sure that ABC is picking him to be the next Bachelor. As a matter of fact, he may be #2 on the pecking order. For the time being, we do feel pretty confidently that the consensus pick is Luke Pell, who has a ton of likability, Southern charm, and a very identifiable story.

Ultimately, we will learn the announcement of the Bachelor one way or another in the coming weeks. While we guess ABC could confirm the new hire during the “After the Final Rose” special, we actually think that it is more likely that they will confirm the news during the finale of “Bachelor in Paradise” a little bit later this summer.
