‘Zoo’ season 2, episode 6 review: Is there hope for Jackson?
Last week’s new episode of “Zoo” certainly qualified for game-changer territory courtesy of what happened with the character of Chloe. It’s hard losing any important character, but especially in the middle of the season — and even more especially with the way in which she went out.
So going into tonight’s new episode, maybe there was a little bit too much hype, and it was almost impossible for the show to live up to it. This one was at a slower pace at times, and while Miles seems to be closer to figuring out a way to help Jackson and, by association, everyone, we weren’t entirely at the edge of our seat throughout the episode.
Yet, at least there was a really big reveal at the tail end of this: Jackson’s dad is alive! Therefore, it’s clear to say that they did find another way to surprise us, even if it was during an episode where not as much happened and the story felt more like it was moving from one place to the other. To be fair, we were always skeptical as to whether or not he was really dead, but this was further validation for us. Also, there were some great monologues in here by Abe.
Maybe one of the simple reasons why this episode didn’t quite have the wow factor for us was all of the spiders: We could really do without. Aren’t they evil enough that we don’t have to see them as a part of this? Episode Grade: B-.
