‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 spoilers: Meet Lucy!

The fourth season of “Agents of SHIELD” is starting to get more and more interesting. We already knew that Ghost Rider would be playing a major part in the story thanks to the big reveal at San Diego Comic-Con, and we’re now getting a chance to learn a little bit more about a fairly mysterious character.

Per Deadline, “Major Crimes,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and “How to Get Away with Murder” alumni Lilli Birdsell is going to play the part of Lucy on the upcoming season. She is described by the site as a “beautiful woman with a haunting quality,” which of course makes us want to make all sorts of ghost jokes since we did just learn that Ghost Rider was on the show. It’s very difficult to tell so early on whether she is good or bad, but the casting notice does make it clear that she has a “very violent streak,” which suggests to us that there are some ways in which she could take a turn for the worse. With a later timeslot this year, it is certainly possible the show could turn especially dark…

Hopefully, we’re going to learn more about some further characters and casting in due time, but in general we think that the show has its work cut out for it given the super-crazy end of season 3. One thing that we will say is that anytime we see the word Lucy associated with people with powers, we immediately think of Scarlett Johansson’s “Lucy” movie. Of course, she’s already a part of the MCU…
