The assembly of characters coming to “Arrow” season 5 only continues to expand. We know that we’re going to be seeing Mad Dog and a powerful character played by “The Walking Dead” alum Chad Coleman; now, we also know that you can go ahead and add Ragman to that list if you choose.
Joe Dinicol of “Blindspot” fame has been chosen to play this character, who is otherwise known as Rory Regan and is off in Star City for answers after having some terrible things happen to him in his personal life. He will first surface in the second episode of the season, and if this story mirrors in some ways that of the DC Comics, we should see him become a hero.
One of the odd mysteries that is out there, though, about season 5 is how much of it feels to be in the early going about Oliver Queen as teacher more so than him off fighting a big bad. He seems ready to recruit some new team members, or even at times take some from within such as Mr. Terrific. Yet, couldn’t one of these new heroes turn evil? Also, isn’t there going to be vigilante overload at some point? It’s easy to sit here and speculate not knowing what the road ahead is going to be, so let’s hope that someone passes along at least a few more answers over the course of the coming weeks.
If not, we’ll see what happens in a few months when “Arrow” premieres.
