‘The Walking Dead’ season 7 spoilers: Talking King Ezekiel

twdThe seventh season of “The Walking Dead” held their panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, and there were several different elements to it that were exciting. Of course, you had Jeffrey Dean Morgan fully embracing the spirit of Negan, and then you had a few other important reveals … including that we were going to have quite a lot of story to come when it comes to King Ezekiel.

The character is the leader of the Kingdom, which is another community not far from the Hilltop Colony. Suffice it to say, he could have a really important role in figuring things out when it comes to Rick and the other survivors, and we’re excited to see how all of this unfolds on the show.

This character is going to be played by Khary Payton on the series, and per executive producer Scott M. Gimple, Payton won the team over, despite not necessarily looking identical to his comic-book version, thanks mostly to his passion and personality: “When I showed his audition to Robert [Kirkman], Robert went bananas.”

Ultimately, this is a series that has not given us much of a reason to be concerned about any character casting so far, so why start here? We do think in the end continuing to nail Negan (Lucille pun intended) is the first priority, and we will see exactly what is going to be coming up with the show after that.
