‘Big Brother 18’ live review: The week 4 eviction, and the end of teams
Thursday night’s “Big Brother 18” eviction show had some more intrigue around it than the usual one. After all, whoever was evicted was going to get a chance to head right back in courtesy of the Battle Back. We would likely learn the next Head of Household over the course of the hour, but we won’t get to know who is returning to the game until Friday night.
Ready to talk about tonight? Let’s dive in…
Strategy session (or some of it) – The show had a tough job condensing all of the gameplay of the past few days into just a twenty-minute package, but we did get a lot of Tiffany’s campaigning, Da’Vonne messing some things up with James, and in general a lot of back-and-forth. When the feeds went down it seemed like Tiffany was going, but host Julie Chen suggested that there was strategizing up until the last minute.
Oh, and we had a James / Natalie package, which was even more ridiculous on the show than the feeds.
Cody and Vanessa segment – Hey, we were going to get this eventually. In this, we had a chance to see these two talk their siblings’ games, and we actually didn’t agree with either one of them. Paulie’s too far out in front right now, while Vanessa isn’t giving herself enough credit. Maybe there is a slight double standard, but much of that is because Vanessa was a great player and therefore Tiffany is more threatening. Cody may have been a finalist, but he was seen as less of a mastermind as Derrick’s #2.
Eviction – It was unanimous, and Tiffany was gone. Even Frank and Bridgette threw votes on her, signaling that everyone was clued in on the plan in advance. Tiffany was gracious in her exit, Da’Vonne milked her goodbye message (maybe not the best move with a potential returning player?), and she was told about the Battle Back twist.
No more teams – Julie Chen announced at the end of the show that both teams and the Roadkill Competition are done; not only that, but we’re only going to have two nominees a week. However, it’s possible that there could be more twists soon beyond just the Roadkill. Time will tell!
