‘Suits’ season 6, episode 2 preview: Mike Ross gets a phone call
There were many things plaguing the character of Mike Ross on the season 6 premiere of “Suits” last week, but one of the larger ones seem to be a complete and utter lack of proper communication with the outside world. He did eventually have a chance to text-message Rachel, but the problem was that this was all a setup orchestrated by Frank Gallo, a fellow prisoner with a vendetta against Harvey Specter who paid off a guard to get precisely what he wanted: Leverage.
There is not really a whole lot of good news when you are someone like Mike, given where you are the odds that are stacked against you. With that, maybe something as simple as a phone call is music to his ears. You can see him speaking to someone in the photo above from Wednesday’s “Accounts Payable,” though it’s not entirely clear who that is.
From one vantage point, of course there is a decent chance it is Rachel. The two are still planning a future together, and she demonstrated a love and concern for him over the course of this past episode. Another interesting possibility is Harvey, given that it may be useful for the two to have an open line of communication. As creator Aaron Korsh told us last week, one of the major effects of the big Frank Gallo reveal is that it ties Harvey even more to the prison story than he has been to date.
We’ll be back with a full review of “Accounts Payable” Wednesday night, and come then we’ll know who Mike is speaking with and so much more.
