‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 7, episode 7 video: Murder vs. spontaneous combustion
Monday night’s new episode of “Rizzoli & Isles” is going to have a big case at the center of it, but to go along with that, you’re also going to see a little bit of science. Hooray, science! (Maybe we get a little too excited about this sort of stuff, but whatever.)
Specifically, the story of “Dead Weight” seems to be a great one because of how science is involved in the case. At first, it looks as though a death is caused by spontaneous combustion, which is one of the weirdest ways we can possibly imagine you seeing someone go. Yet, at the same time, it looks like there is something more at the center of the case. After all, Maura through her work is able to prove that murder is actually at the center of what happened.
Perhaps we’re most excited about this episode since it could give Maura more of a chance to shine in the lab than we’ve seen in a while. For much of the season so far, one of the questions the show has addressed is if Maura would be able to be as effective without the full use of her brain; while it was humanizing to see her struggle, at the same time this is a show about people who are extraordinary at their jobs. There’s a reason why Maura and Jane have been able to crack so many cases and take down some bad guys, and it’s nice to get back into that before the show comes to a close.
Stay tuned, as we’ll be back tomorrow night with a full review!
