‘The Blacklist’ season 4: Will Liz and Red come together once more?
Through better or worse, much of the premise of “The Blacklist” is about the unlikely partnership of Elizabeth Keen and Raymond Reddington. There are times in which this works incredibly well, and then some other times when it is a mess. Yet, without it we feel fairly confident that the show would not have the same sort of zeal or appeal to it. The back-and-forth between them is one of the things that makes it as entertaining as it is.
So with all of this in mind, don’t be altogether surprised that we see these two characters working together at some point in the future once more, even if Megan Boone’s character did make the decision to get away from Red by faking her death. Speaking on this subject to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp passed along the following message:
“I can’t imagine him abandoning Liz … She hurt him, but we often hurt the people we love. The fact he’s been hurt isn’t nearly enough for him to walk away.”
When you consider what red perceives himself to be continuing to fight for, the evidence feels even more clear that he is going to be a part of her world one way or another. Another issue for Liz right now may simply be that she needs his help, given that she has fallen into Alexander Kirk’s scheme and learned in the process that her biological father may not be Reddington, after all. There’s also the issue of Tom. Given that he has his own show coming in “The Blacklist: Redemption,” you do wonder of course just how much he is going to be around as a part of this story.
