‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6, episode 2 title: Looking for meaning in ‘A Bitter Draught’
“Once Upon a Time” may have a ways to go until the premiere, but the tiniest of episode teases are starting to come out … mostly through episode titles.
In a post on Twitter, executive producer Adam Horowitz confirmed that the name for the second episode of this season is “A Bitter Draught,” which is an interesting follow-up to the premiere simple titled “The Savior.” What does this mean? The word “draught” originates from the Middle ages, and is often now interchangeable with the word “draft.” Specifically in this context, we imagine it meaning a current of air.
With the word “bitter” before it, we imagine that this could be a reference to a variety of different works. What’s odd is because we don’t quite see how they could be connected to the “Once Upon a Time” universe. We do still know that these words are chosen deliberately, and are often in reference to characters. We’ll see as the season progresses whether or not that tradition sticks.
For the time being, the two biggest teases we know about the current season are that the Land of Untold Series will play a huge role thanks to the actions of one Mr. Hyde, and to go along with that, we are also bracing ourselves for more of the Evil Queen thanks to the split between her and Regina. This should make for some terrifying moments for the characters, but also some fun ones for all the major Regina fans out there.
