MTV’s ‘Scream’ season 2, episode 7 reaction: Emma, Eli, and a Branson surprise
Tonight, “Scream” tried to get us closer and closer to the killer reveal. As for whether or not they actually did that, well, that’s something that remains to be seen.
There’s one thing we do know, it’s that the janitor seems to be around any time that stuff goes down.
The big reveal at the end of tonight’s episode was something that some people out there predicted: Branson is still alive! Granted, there’s a good chance he could die again at any moment. Maybe that’s what happens with this show?
Also tonight, Eli tried to make a move on Emma, though she didn’t exactly have much of an interest in it given that she still has some feelings for Kieran. The place caught on fire, the two got out, and of course we’re still curious on in there’s a chance Eli could be behind this somewhat. Him trying to claim that Kieran has multiple personalities in some ways could be viewed as a red herring.
As for a happier couple moment, Zoe and Noah got closer together … at least briefly, prior to having it broken up by Audrey with some of her new information. We really don’t think we’re that closer to finding out the truth, mostly because the show is asking us to have one of those complicated maps up on our wall with where everyone is at a given time all mapped out.
In the end, we do appreciate the way that the story is being told this season, mostly because we get the feeling that the writers are at least trying to make these characters human in the midst of the chaos around them. Who knows how real people would act in this situation where terrible stuff and death is happening at every second?
