‘Rizzoli & Isles’ scores ‘Cagney & Lacey,’ ‘Burn Notice’ alum Sharon Gless for 100th episode
Given that the upcoming 100th episode of “Rizzoli & Isles” is an enormous celebration of the show’s history, it only makes some sense that they would cast someone well-known for the history of crime TV in general.
It was confirmed recently (per KSiteTV) while at the 100th episode party that Sharon Gless, best known for “Cagney & Lacey” and “Burn Notice,” would be guest-starring on the show. There aren’t many details available about her casting just yet, but we anticipate her being a very fun addition to the show.
The 100th episode of the series is airing on July 25, and the title for it is “2M7258-100.” We’re going to go see Jane (Angie Harmon) go undercover at a county jail, so the assumption is clearly there that Gless could either be an inmate or some sort of employee of the facility. Either way, we presume that she will be a great addition of the show. It’s possible that this episode in general could factor in to the end of the series’ run (we are in the final season), but at the same time there should be something standalone about this story. 100th episodes generally work best when you can come back to them and watch them independently, just in case you need a reminder of what is best about a show.
Plus, there will still be plenty of time after this one wraps up to tell a final arc. This is only the eighth one of the season.
