‘Fargo’ season 3 spoilers: Carrie Coon of ‘The Leftovers’ snags significant role
While “Fargo” season 3 has kept most of its casting news fairly under wraps over the past several weeks, maybe the floodgates are starting to open now? If nothing else, we are certainly pleased to have a little bit more in the way of news.
According to a new report coming in from TVLine, Carrie Coon, who is currently filming the final season of “The Leftovers” for HBO, is going to be coming aboard the show in the role of Gloria Burgle, a woman described as “practical” and is not afraid to take danger on head-on. Given the particular nature of this show, that will probably be useful. Early indications are that she will be the show’s female lead, and while she does not have the star power of a Kirsten Dunst from season 2, she does bring with her significant acting chops for when the series returns to film in the months ahead. (Producers here ultimately have to wait for some of the colder weather to settle in.)
The only other confirmed casting for “Fargo” season 3 at present is Ewan McGregor playing two separate roles on the show. He’s where they are getting most of their star-power from at present, and hopefully he delivers in a big way.
Story-wise, what we know is that season 3 will have the most contemporary setting for the show to date, and with that we wonder whether some of the characters from season 1 could turn up in at least cameos. Given their experiences dealing with horrifying cases, we have to consider it at least possible.
