‘Ray Donovan’ season 4, episode 4 preview: The next moves for Ray and Mickey

“Ray Donovan” is a show in many way about various plans and schemes, so it really shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the wheels are still turning for our title character.

With that in mind, let’s press ahead and look at next week’s episode, where Ray does have a plan to escape a precarious predicament. Here’s the problem: He needs more time, and he’s reliant on other people to get it. Sure, we know that Ray can be a smooth-talker when he needs to, but is he that persuasive to continually be able to pull this off? We’re about to find out.

Meanwhile, Ray will also find out some unwelcome news in this episode courtesy of the return of Mickey, a man who has his own fair share of schemes. He could reach out to some familiar faces, and in turn, Ray may commit some drastic acts in order to ensure that he can find a way to keep him at arm’s length.

The synopsis below does a fairly good job in terms of giving you further intel in terms of what to expect … or, at least it does the best job that it can in the amount of space that it has:

“Ray visits a Hollywood power-player. Mickey offers his boys a job.”

Here’s the funny thing: You’ve already got Ray / Mickey drama, threats, violence, and ultimatums, and we’re only at episode 3! Three quarters of the season are still to come, which creates the impression that matters will become worse well before they start to turn around.
