TV Death Toll: Who from ‘The Blacklist’ season 4 could be in danger?

The Blacklist logo any seasonThrough the course of the month of July, we are spending some time looking at danger in our TV Death Toll article series. Specifically, we mean that in the form of which beloved characters from various shows could find themselves in some hot water.

Today, we’re talking a show in “The Blacklist” that certainly has shown little issue over the years with killing characters off. Of course, in one case we’re also talking about pretending to kill someone off in Liz only to bring her back for the finale. It likes to scare viewers, and makes it clear that this is a world where terrible things happen. With all of this in mind, shouldn’t we go ahead and list off some of the people in the most danger?

Alexander Kirk – It would make sense that Liz’s (supposed) biological father dies episodes after he drops the bomb on the show. It’d be torment of the worst kind, but this is right up the series alley of using the element of surprise. Liz still wouldn’t get closure on her life.

Ressler – We feel for this character, given that we long envisioned him having an even more substantial role than he does. Somehow, the series needs to find a way to rope him in more with Liz and Reddington if you want to get the best from him.

Samar – Unfortunately, she fits the bill of the sort of character who often gets killed off on these sort of shows: Someone important, but also someone who has not been around the series from the beginning and whose death would impact other people. Her inclusion here is more logistical than anything.

Cooper – He’s been in some danger before, and if you wanted to devastate the entire Task Force, starting from the top is a clear way to do that.

Liz or Red – We’re lumping the two leads into one spot here because it feels almost impossible to imagine either one of them leaving the show now. The “death” of Liz was mostly an innovative way to write around Megan Boone’s maternity leave. There was likely never any intention to remove her from the series permanently.
