‘Mr. Robot’ season 2: Show creator, Portia Doubleday, Stephanie Corneliussen speak out (video)
What is coming up for some characters on “Mr. Robot” season 2? Obviously we anticipate some key twists and turns with the Elliot Anderson character, but part of the strength of this show is that he is only one part of the equation. Many different characters help to weave the tapestry, and interact with Rami Malek’s character in surprising ways.
Two of these characters in particular are Angela and Joanna, and for the sake of this article, we’re going to focus on new videos featuring them … plus a bonus clip from creator Sam Esmail to go along with it.
Portia Doubleday – First, we begin with the actress behind Angela, who makes it clear that for her character, much of season 2 will be about getting used to a new energy for her and a different world. There will be universal themes present in her story, but some elements will be served on a micro level.
Through this clip, you do get a further sense of Angela’s motives, but also how Doubleday feels about the show’s success.
Stephanie Corneliussen – Meanwhile, the actress behind Joanna makes it clear that even she is in some ways surprised by the reaction to her character, who is hardly a force for good most of the time. Yet, there are some relatable qualities to her, and Stephanie discusses those more in-depth here to go along with some particular scenes you can expect to see from her moving forward.
Sam Esmail – Finally, let’s turn to the show creator for a moment or two! In this video, Esmail (who is actually directing every episode) makes it clear how the second season will explore the aftermath of the big Evil Corp hack, and to go along with that more of the police side of things. Also, it will be more of an ensemble show.
