‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18: Early look at production!
A few days ago, we teased that “Law & Order: SVU” was getting set to start filming. Now, we’ve got photographic proof of that very thing.
Per the official account of the show’s writers room, you can sneak a look at where production is at around the time that filming begins. What do we make of being outdoors, slightly removed from the hustle of New York City? Maybe a character is getting in some rest and relaxation, or maybe we’re looking at a potential crime scene. Ironically, these two things could not be any more different.
Whether or not the events of season 17 are still weighing on these characters remains to be seen. The death of Dodds may be a hard thing for Benson and company to swallow, and even though some time may have passed, the after-effects there may still remain. It is something to be on the watch for as we progress further and further along into this season. Given that this is a procedural, there will likely be many other elements included, as well. In the midst of a difficult case, it is somewhat easy for the main characters to develop a sort of tunnel vision.
In terms of what else is known about season 18, there is really not much beyond the returning cast members and showrunner Rick Eid stepping in to replace Warren Leight. The show is likely interested in keeping some things under wraps for now, and maybe these will come out and surprise us later. Rest assured that we will have some other updates from production as we get further and further along.
