‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7: Meet the new Governor!
Remember when Pat Jameson was the governor on “Hawaii Five-0“? Well, that didn’t go so well. Fingers crossed that the latest one has a little bit of a better fate on the show.
Per a report from TVLine, Rosalind Chao (“The OC”) will recur throughout season 7 in the role of Governor Mahoe. Specifically, she will turn up first in the premiere episode, and then appear here and there throughout.
As we suggested, hopefully Mahoe finds herself in a better situation than Jameson, given that she got herself connected to all the wrong people. (Jean Smart has really had a great career for herself since leaving the show; look at “Fargo”!) While there are more details to come with this character, for now we’re intrigued. Given that many of the main characters are investigators, and Hawaii is a fairly small state, there are inevitable connections. Also, it is an election year, and you have to wonder if the producers will take advantage of that. (Will the Governor make an endorsement during the upcoming Presidential race?)
New episodes of “Hawaii Five-0” air in a matter of months on CBS. Personally, our primarily hope is to see Danny and McGarrett bickering more than ever in the wake of the transplant. Also, let’s hope for Kono and Adam’s reunion sooner rather than later, given their present situation and hope apart they are. We’d also be fine if more guest stars and familiar faces enter the fray, even beyond the political realm.
