Ross Marquand has become an important part of “The Walking Dead” universe the past couple of years in the role of Aaron, and we expect that as time goes by on the show moving forward, we’ll see him involved in some super-key decisions when it comes to Alexandria’s future. He knows the city well, and they are having to deal with some larger threats than ever now thanks to the Saviors, the infamous group led by Negan.
Of course, fans have been certainly frustrated over the cliffhanger ending involving Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character killing someone at the end of season 6, but speaking to Entertainment Weekly Radio, Marquand had the following to say about how it could end up being worth the wait:
“I’m excited that people are talking about it and I think they’re going to be really excited when they come back and see that premiere episode for season 7 … It’s brutal, it’s insane, but I think it is going to be exactly what the fans are looking for.”
The actor also made it clear that with the introduction of the Hilltop Colony, we’re going to see much more of this larger shared universe, something that could play out in interesting ways:
“This season is all about expanding the world of the communities. Of course, we got introduced to the Hilltop, and we’ve got the Saviors, and we already were introduced to the Wolves, but now we’re seeing all these different factions really start to come together. Because for a while there it was just roaming bands of people who weren’t very sizable, and now they’ve all bound together and they’ve got weapons and they’ve got a lot of resources at their disposal. There’s going to be a massive clashing off communities, and some will work together and some will literally tear each other apart.”
