‘Maya & Marty’ finale: Steve Martin, Kelly Ripa, Emma Stone to appear

The season finale of “Maya & Marty” will be coming your way on NBC next week, and the sketch show has now unveiled their full lineup of performers taking part in it. As per usual, it is a really impressive bunch!

In terms of new guests, Entertainment Weekly reports that both “Live!” host Kelly Ripa and actress Emma Stone are going to be making appearances in Tuesday’s episode; Stone’s appearance in particular does not come as a surprise, as she is a “Saturday Night Live” favorite and the two shows share an obvious kinship thanks to Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. Another “SNL” favorite in Steve Martin will be making his third appearance of the season in the finale, and he will be joined by an NBC favorite as a whole in Sean Hayes.

While at the moment the network has not unveiled whether or not this show will come back for another season, we do think that there is potential here. While not every sketch has been a winner, we have seen a lot of promise here and there and there’s almost nothing else out there like it. Not only that, but this report further proves that this show has a real knack for securing big-name guest stars like we don’t tend to see elsewhere in the TV landscape.

For now, our advice is just to enjoy the finale, and then wait and see what the future holds. NBC may take a little bit of time to figure out what they want to do with some of their summer shows.
