Is ‘Bones’ season 11, episode 21 new tonight? Why the delay

The 11th season of “Bones” has certainly been exciting and then some, as we’ve gotten a chance to see some rather exciting twists and turns over the course of its run. Here’s one of the crazy things about it: This season has been on since this past fall, and that’s a long time.

The one thing that probably makes this wait even worse is the realization that there is no new episode airing on Fox Thursday night, just as there was no new episode airing last week. What’s the reason for that? Let’s just say that it has a little bit to do with the Fourth of July holiday … still. clearly, someone wanted to keep their episodes away from that to the best of their ability, thinking that they would perform slightly better later in the month. The show will, after all, return next week.

The truth here is that we could spend a heck of a long time trying to determine whether or not the ratings implications in delaying the show are worth it, but the reality here is rather simple: It doesn’t really matter! When you think about it for a minute, the show has already been renewed for a 12th and final season, and while we certainly feel as though Fox wants the show to get the strongest ratings possible, it doesn’t really matter that much since it doesn’t guarantee we will have more or less of the show moving forward.
