‘Zoo’ season 2, episode 3 review: When (electric?) ants attack

Zoo -

The first two episodes of “Zoo” were all sorts of ridiculous, especially the elaborate elephant chase scene near the end of the premiere event. This is one of those shows that in some ways, is completely corny beyond all comprehension. Yet, it’s also so much fun that you cannot help but watch.

Tonight, ants took center stage for a series of events that proved to be ridiculous beyond words. You had ants crawling into people, ants that apparently could generate electricity, and apparently ants that caused things to go boom. We’re not entirely sure that there were a whole lot of people really rooting for the ants going into this episode, but we feel like those negative feelings are increased pretty significantly by what we ended up seeing here by the end of this episode.

Dariela’s presence in this story was particularly interesting, especially given what happened the end when an ant managed to cause a little bit of a scene…

Elsewhere, Jamie and Logan’s forest bonding session (if you want to call it that) was mostly a good character study as we got to know the two parties better. It was weird, but at the same time, bizarrely entertaining. Plus, we got to see someone in Jamie lose her toe in what was amazing one pretty clean chop. It’s almost like Logan has experience at this!

Yes, “Zoo” will continue to not be “Breaking Bad” or something you’ll watch more than once; still, it’s hard to argue against it being one of the most entertaining things airing at present in the summer. Grade: B.
