‘Girl Meets World’ season 3 spoilers: First official look at ‘Girl Meets Upstate’

We’ve known for a while now that “Girl Meets Upstate” is the title for the next new episode of “Girl Meets World,” but for whatever reason the Disney Channel waiting for some time to give us some official info. Luckily, that’s changed over the course of the past 24 hours!

If you look above, you can get the first official photo from the episode, which seems to be really picking up almost right away where “Girl Meets Triangle” left off. We’re a little surprised that Maya and Riley are so willing to turn the entire bay window area purple, but hey, we’ll roll with it.

Meanwhile, the synopsis below makes it fairly clear that these two characters are not going to be sticking around their home for a very long time before taking off in another direction:

“Maya and Riley travel upstate to help Maya find her true artistic voice, but neglect to tell Cory and Topanga where they’ve gone.”

So where are the two of them going to go? Based on some of the clips that we’ve seen already, the simple answer here appears to be that they are heading off to see Shawn Hunter, someone who may be able to help Maya through what is her current identity crisis. Other than Cory she is one of the most prominent father figures in her life, and he doesn’t have the same perspective as he does since he is not responsible for raising Riley.

We imagine this episode will be fun, and if nothing else, be a source of some good “Boy Meets World” nostalgia for some of the other fans who are out there.
