‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2016: Who’s lobbying for Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini?
We’re still a little bit of time away from the next season of “Strictly Come Dancing” coming on the air, let alone wrapping up the casting process. Yet, at the same time there are at least some reports coming in regarding who some people associated with the show would like to see sporting some dancing shoes.
Speaking per the Daily Star, judge Bruno Tonioli made it clear that he would love to see former “X Factor” judge and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini make an appearance in the ballroom on this coming season, adding the following message in the process:
“I would like to see Cheryl on it. Why not? She is a nice girl. She would be good value … Get her and Joey Essex can you imagine?”
Getting Cheryl would be an enormous coup for so many reasons, with one of the primary ones being that it would be a big ratings boost for this show, and probably a thorn in the side of Simon Cowell given that this show is the biggest “X Factor” competitor out there. It wouldn’t be the first time that someone associated with his show went over to the ballroom, as Caroline Flack came over following her time co-hosting “The Xtra Factor.” Eventually she went back to the singing show as co-host for this past season, only to end up leaving again. What a winding road this is!
We’ll get a sense what the full cast is later this fall, but we have a hard time imagining Cheryl just because there’s not a huge incentive for her. She already has the fame!
