While it’s been nice to have some new episodes of “Bones” airing this summer when there is not as much on the air, we do come bearing some not-so-great news: There is no new episode tonight. Moreover, there is not a new episode airing next week, either. For one reason or another Fox is being extremely conservative when it comes to airing new episodes around the July 4 holiday. We do understand the decision to not do it this week, mostly because it is a time where people are getting ready to take some time off. However, not doing this next week, either, is a little bit more of a surprise to us since most people should be back at work by then.
Anyhow, we’ve got for you below the official details of “The Nightmare in the Nightmare,” which is the season finale airing on July 21, to help tide you over until the show’s return the week before. Take a look at the synopsis below, courtesy of SpoilerTV:
“The team dives back into investigating a serial killer from the past, attempting to find “The Puppeteer,” who lives with his victims’ bodies before disposing of them. Meanwhile, Brennan works through her guilt over her retirement last year, blaming herself for not stopping the serial killer earlier. However, little does she know she might be in some trouble.”
It’s terrifying for Booth and Brennan to have to deal with another monster of this variety, mostly because of all the stuff that they have been through in the past on the show. Yet, at the same time we will admit that there is a little bit of intrigue from our vantage point that comes with seeing how the team will tackle such an obvious, dangerous threat.
