‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 12 ratings: Show enters brief hiatus with improvement
As you may have heard by now, there is no new episode of “Outlander” airing this weekend due to the Fourth of July holiday. With that in mind, you’re going to be waiting for an extra week, and we are at least happy to confirm that the series is entering this said hiatus on a high note when it comes to the ratings.
This past episode of the show drew its highest 18-49 rating in two weeks in a 0.2, which may not necessarily be a shocking number, but it is firmly within the show wheelhouse. In total viewers, the count was a little more impressive given that with 1.05 million people watching, this marked the most-watched episode of the series since the month of May. We know that there are two more seasons coming up officially, but there’s still something nice that comes with seeing solid live ratings.
As per usual, the majority of “Outlander” viewers are not charted in these live+same day ratings, since there are some who catch repeats, some who watch online, and some who check it out On-Demand or via their DVR in the days following the episode. This is such a different era for TV now; a few years ago posting live+same day ratings was a little more cut-and-dry, but now it is just a small piece in the overall puzzle.
Let’s hope that for the finale, the show will be able to at least work its way back up to a 0.3 rating, and also back over 1.2 million viewers. The last time we saw either one of these milestones was back in April.
