‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: Show bosses on Regina – Evil Queen dilemma

The sixth season of “Once Upon a Time” is now officially coming to ABC on Sunday, September 25, and there are going to be several different issues that the show will need to tackle almost right away. What’s one of the biggest ones? It all comes back to the Evil Queen, who was (seemingly) separated from Regina Mills at the end of last season much in the way that such a separation now exists between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

This change could lead to some rather interesting developments given that for Regina, she may now have some of the burden lifted of having that darkness within her; however, at the same exact time what would the Evil Queen look like without the angel on her shoulder? There are complications here, and executive producer Edward Kitsis teases some of this to Entertainment Weekly:

“The two roles are obviously going to be very separate in the sense that we saw a snippet of an Evil Queen who looked at what Regina has become and is very disappointed … If she’s unleashed, she would show Regina what ripping away everyone’s happy ending truly looks like.”

One of the other interesting dilemmas that we can see happening is this: What if the Evil Queen does something and Regina is blamed for it? Even in this world, where there are so many odd / supernatural things that can occur, it may still be difficult to be able to adequately convince someone that a split personality is actually responsible for what happened and not you.
