‘America’s Got Talent’ video: Calysta Bevier on ‘Fight Song’ audition, Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell

This season “America’s Got Talent” has managed to find itself an array of talented singers, and Calysta Bevier is the latest one to get a golden buzzer. Not only that, but she got it from none other than Simon Cowell, one of the people that you most want to impress if you’re in this field.

So how is she reacting to this life-changing audition? You get a sense of some of that in the video below, as she also explains why she chose “Fight Song” as the one that she wanted to perform for this big moment.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see what Bevier will be able to do to stand out in the live shows, given that she will have a lot of competition, including three other singers who also have Golden Buzzers. The one thing that may all benefit them is that they are very different from each other. Laura Bretan, for example, sings opera, while Grace VanderWaal is clearly the singer-songwriter variety and Sal Valentinetti is an old-school crooner.

One thing that is especially interesting to us about this year’s live shows is that they are being held at the famed Dolby Theater in Hollywood. It’s a venue that does rival Radio City Music Hall in terms of notoriety (that is where the Oscars are held), but at the same time, we feel for everyone down there who is already trying to deal with L.A. traffic. In between this and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” it’s going to be a bloodbath.
