‘Hell on Wheels’ season 5, episode 10 video: Durant faces ‘frontier justice’

The title for this weekend’s new episode of “Hell on Wheels” is “Frontier Justice,” and based on the sneak peek below, it’s pretty easy to figure out why exactly that is.

In this video, you can see Thomas Durant find himself victim to an angry mob arriving, seeking out money and threatening dire consequences if they don’t give it. By the end of the sneak peek, Durant is more or less given an ultimatum. Either he is going to have to find some cold-hard cash or face the unfriendly end of a barrel. Not the best spot for him to be in.

What we have seen through the first two episodes of this second half of the season is that there are consequences to many of your actions. For The Swede, for example, his decision to attack Cullen’s family eventually led to him being hanged; meanwhile, for Bohannon his decision to leave his family to work on the railroad led to Naomi eventually deciding to move on. He eventually tried to accept that by at least ensuring they had a better life.

There are only five episodes left, and among the challenges over the final episodes include establishing a popular endgame for our main characters, and of course completing the railroad itself. Given the amount of time that has been focused on this singular mission, not getting to that golden spike would be a disappointment.
