‘Scream Queens’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Glee’ football player joins as series regular
If there’s something that we’ve clearly learned about executive producer Ryan Murphy over the years, it is that he has a knack for using actors across many of his shows. Two of the leads in “Scream Queens” in Lea Michele and Emma Roberts appeared first on “Glee” and “American Horror Story,” and he has tapped back into the “Glee” universe once more for another name.
According to Entertainment Weekly, James Earl (not to be confused with James Earl Jones), who played football player Azimio for more than a dozen episodes on the Fox musical series, is going to be coming aboard “Scream Queens” in a series-regular role of Candy Striper, presumably someone affiliated with the hospital in which our season 1 characters will be at trying to establish a career in the medical profession. Earl joins John Stamos and Taylor Lautner as one of the show’s male leads; his previous credits also include “Ground Floor” and “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life.”
Is it possible that more actors will be announced on the show moving forward? It’s likely, just as it is also likely that we’re going to hear some more big names, even if they are just recurring guest stars. Last season, the show managed to get both Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas for gigs, which was certainly impressive. It’s only a shame that it didn’t really help much in the ratings department, since the numbers for the first season were not necessarily that impressive.
