‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ season 11, episode 1 review: Will the ladies forgive Vicki Gunvalson?
The last season of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” had a heavy focus on Vicki, Brooks and whether or not he was lying about having cancer. Thankfully this storyline is at an end (and hopefully will not be brought up too much more this season) and we can move back into what we love about this show – glamour, gossip and extravagance.
Meghan King is hoping to have a baby with her husband and is undergoing fertility treatments to make the magic happen since Jim has had a vasectomy, but froze his swimmers. If you want to know more about whether or not she’s been able to get pregnant, just head on over to the link here, but if you want to see it played out over this season then stick with us because we will be reviewing the show every week.
So… the new housewife Kelly – we love her! We have never had a housewife on any of the franchises quite like her. She is rich, beautiful and her brother and mother live with her because that’s part of her culture. It was cool to see someone as rich as she is having her whole family living with her and making sure everyone is comfortable in the same lifestyle. We also love that she’s the Queen of the bad pun jokes (we hear a lot of those around the CarterMatt office too, so we are fans of that humor).
No one has seen much of Vicki since everything went down with Brooks, but she’s doing well living by herself for the first time and we honestly like seeing independent Vicki. She looks good, her place looks good and she seems to have her head cleared of all the negative stuff that’s been going on the past few years. If you were hoping to not hear about Brooks and his cancer again this season – well you’re going to be disappointed because we did have to hear about it now that stories have surfaced about Brooks fabricating medical documents. The ladies want Vicki to take accountability for her part in this whole thing.
Heather is having a boat cruise and decides to invite Vicki despite everything that’s happened and although Heather wants to bridge the gap, Shannon has no interested in seeing Vicki at all. During the cruise, Vicki apologizes to Heather about everything that happened, saying she didn’t want to believe the stories about Brooks because she truly loved him and we are left with a cliffhanger. Will Heather forgive her?
We just have to say – what these ladies do to look as good as they do is quite incredible. They work out like no one’s business and will give body builders a run for their money. After seeing many thin women on reality TV we applaud seeing buff women who aren’t afraid to sweat in front of the Bravo world. Episode grade: B –
