‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Chase McNary, Derek Path receive two-on-one date

If there is an obvious criticism that we have right now for this season of “The Bachelorette,” it’s this: Aren’t we in super-predictable territory at this point? It feels so clear that this is the Jordan Rodgers show that it is not even funny. Robby Hayes and Luke Pell may be somewhat-serious contenders, but it almost feels like you can write off Derek Path and Chase McNary now since they’re getting a two-on-one date Monday night. Look back in the history books: How often do eventual winners go on these dates? It’s not often.

Anyhow, the short synopsis below via ABC makes it clear precisely what these two guys are going to be doing with JoJo Fletcher in Argentina:

“Once again, there is a dramatic two-on-date, this time between Chase and Derek, two of JoJo’s favorites. The two men face off in an awkward day of tango dancing. One man struggles to find a love connection with the Bachelorette while the other is very confident. Which man will get the rose and a romantic dance with JoJo while being serenaded by famous South American singer Soledad Pastorutti?”

We do actually like both guys for several different reasons, but neither seems perfect for JoJo. Derek needs to go find someone who looks like Pam from “The Office,” and Chase needs to find a venue where he gets screen time that lasts longer than a second or two. Maybe he’d be good on “Bachelor in Paradise”? He’d be good as one of the contestants on there we were meant to take seriously.
