‘Major Crimes’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Twin Peaks’ actress comes aboard for ‘superhero’ mystery

Everyone loves TV superheroes, right? That seems to be one of the ideas behind an upcoming “Major Crimes” season 5 episode, even though it is going to be a rather sad story for the man playing one of these characters.

Per a report from TVLine, the upcoming eighth episode of this season will revolve around the death of Chris Walker, a young actor who was appearing on a show as the fictional hero Gold Storm. His mother just so happened to be of the manager variety, and apparently she caused enough friction on set that she was eventually fired. “Twin Peaks” vet Sherilyn Flynn has been cast to play the role.

Meanwhile, Missi Pyle has also been brought aboard to play the actor’s wife, and Stephanie Courtney will play the part of a doctor who has a history of giving how prescription drugs to celebrities. With that latter bit of casting, it feels at least reasonably apparent just how this character could have died.

Personally, this may be our most-anticipated case of the season right now, if for no other reason than that we do really love superhero TV shows and we’re excited to see what the “Major Crimes” take on them is going to be. After all, we’ve already had some opportunities to see how thy take on a variety of other genres.
