Ratings: ‘Reign’ season 3 finale rises; ‘BrainDead’ closer to death; ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ falls
Could CBS cancel “BrainDead” despite all of the hype leading up to it this summer, and their relationship with the creators of “The Good Wife” in Robert and Michelle King? We certainly did not think we were going to be having this conversation at one point earlier this year, but here we are, and it is looking more and more like this is a potential possibility.
Last night’s episode, the second of the season, drew just a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. If that is anything other than abysmal to most people out there, we’d be shocked. CBS had to have some higher expectations for this going in than what they are ultimately getting out of it now.
As for elsewhere on the night, there was some good news for “Reign” given that the CW series managed to improve upward to a 0.3 rating for its finale; we don’t know when season 4 will premiere or if it will be the final season of the show, but you better believe that this is something that we are going to be watching out for. “The Bachelorette” was the big winner on the night with yet another impressive 2.1 rating.
Meanwhile, there was some bad news over on Fox as “So You Think You Can Dance” mustered a 0.8 for its latest new episode. That is extremely low, but at the same time, we know that there are some out there who probably expected the ratings to be even lower given our disdain for the theme. We guess that comparisons really are what matters here.
