‘Major Crimes’ season 5, episode 3 preview: An FBI collaboration in ‘Foreign Affairs’
Through the first two episodes of “Major Crimes” season 5, we have certainly seen very different cases that tackle completely different subjects. With that in mind, isn’t it appropriate that the third episode this season give you something that sets it apart once more?
This episode is entitled “Foreign Affairs,” and per the official TNT synopsis below, there is going to be a collaboration between the FBI in Major Crimes to try and stop a terrorist:
“After an ISIS-inspired attack against a member of the US Armed Services, the FBI asks for Captain Raydor’s help in finding a terrorist, as Major Crimes joins the Bureau in a race against the clock before the terrorist can strike again.”
We do feel like there will be a greater sense of emotional stakes that comes through this episode, mostly because of what we’re dealing with. This may also amplify more from the viewer point of view just because of what has happened with ISIS since this episode was first written. In the specter of Orlando it becomes more and more difficult to watch some of these stories, even if we acknowledge them as works of fiction and separate them from reality. The hope here is obviously that since “Major Crimes” is a show about heroism, hopefully we will see a positive outcome come from this investigation, and the people responsible for the attack will be brought to justice without hurting any other characters.
We’ll have some more on this episode before it airs; stay tuned.
