‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 7, episode 4 review: Maura makes a decision and more in ‘Post Mortem’
Tonight, “Rizzoli & Isles” gave us a very strong mystery involving the postal service of all things, but we’re not entirely sure that this is what many fans of the show are going to be talking about.
Instead, more of tonight’s episode from our vantage point focused on getting to see Maura having to make a decision when it comes to her medical future, trying to figure out the way in which to get herself back to normal. She made some progress here tonight when it comes to her decision, and to go along with that we had a few great scenes between her and Jane where they were there for each other. Hooray for friendship goals! Also, hooray for singing at one point during the hour!
In getting back to the postal story, the strongest moment came via the confession at the end, largely because of the way in which it was constructed, and then also getting to see Jane work outside of the Boston PD in order to get answers. We like it when Angie Harmon’s character gets to work alongside people who are equal challenges to her as an investigator, mostly since it forces her to go out of her comfort zone and approach things a little bit differently.
While we still aren’t going to say that this was the strongest “Rizzoli & Isles” episode this season (our preference is still for the first two), “Post Mortem” still bring a lot to the table. There was a lot of drama, a mystery that turned especially intense, and a few great moments with our supporting cast. Grade: B.
