‘The X-Files’ season 11: Gillian Anderson on her interest in returning

X-Files -We’ve commented in the past that it seems as though everyone involved in “The X-Files” wants the show to return, but there is one issue that all parties involved are still taking their time in order to figure out: When. Fox seems to already have their entire schedule mapped out for the 2016-17 season, and the adventures of Mulder and Scully are not a part of it. Our sentiment has been that like “Sherlock,” this series is a perfect one to bring back every couple of years, but we’re still waiting precisely to see just when that could happen and when an announcement could be made.

Based on what Gillian Anderson had to say in a new interview with Deadline, she is feeling more or less the same way:

“I’m open to the conversation, though [20th Century Fox Television hasn’t] come to us yet … I have no clue when they’re going to. I’m getting on with the rest of my life and I’m booking other jobs, so if it is indeed something that they would like to continue, then that conversation will need to be had. And I have no idea when that will be able to take place at this juncture.”

Anderson certainly is doing the right thing for her own career at present, since she can’t just sit around and wait for people to meet up with her and start talking a revival. With that being said, we are at the juncture now where the studio really should act quickly to ensure that we get more of this over the next few years; otherwise, who knows when the schedules of the cast will align again?
