‘The X-Files’ season 11: David Duchovny wants more than six episodes

X-Files -We stated recently that we are still very much in a waiting game to figure out precisely what the future for “The X-Files” is going to be; for now, what we do know is that we’re still waiting. It’s not going to happen over the course of this coming TV season, but maybe it could take place for late 2017 or early 2018 … for now. There is still so much time for things to change!

What we do know for certain is that star David Duchovny would like to be a part of the show for a little bit longer than the six episodes that were in season 10. Take a look at what he had to say in a new interview with TVInsider:

“We are talking about it, and like before, it’s a matter of getting the three principal people in the same room for a significant amount of time to shoot it. Last time, it obviously took nearly 10 years [to get us all together again], so hopefully it won’t take that long. And I think there were too few episodes. Twenty-two is far too many, but six is too few, so we’ve got to figure out something right in between.”

Personally, we feel like the magic number is really somewhere around 10, since that marks a great opportunity for us to get some unique standalone episodes and a larger story that can last longer than two, which is what we had with the somewhat-convoluted “My Struggle.” The whole point of this revival is to make it feel like an event, so any number above this would fee like too much.
