‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Teen Wolf’ alum Tyler Hoechlin lands Superman role
“Supergirl” has officially found its Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Today, it was confirmed that “Teen Wolf” alum Tyler Hoechlin has been tapped to play the hero during the first two episodes of the second season. We’re not sure just how much more we’re going to see of him beyond these initial appearances, but at the same exact time, we’re just thrilled to be getting a chance to see him in action at all as the character.
In a statement on the subject, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg had the following to say:
“[Fellow Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
To us, this news couldn’t be greater since it will get some “Teen Wolf” fans interested in the show in maybe a way that they were not beforehand, and we’re always for trying to generate as much buzz as possible around a show. Given that “Supergirl” is in somewhat mysterious waters with it moving to The CW, why not go ahead and get it a little bit more buzz? We’re sure that Kreisberg and company had this idea with that in mind in the first place.
The new season of “Supergirl” is going to be premiering at some point this fall, so we’ll have further news on that and other castings very soon.
