‘The Amazing Race Canada 4’ officially casts ‘Big Brother Canada’ alumni Jillian MacLaughlin, Emmett Blois
We’re glad to say that it is finally officially: One of the first prominent reality “Big Brother Canada” couples is returning to reality TV for “The Amazing Race Canada” … but unfortunately, they won’t be doing so as a couple anymore. Love is dead! Okay, we’re being a tad over-dramatic here…
Anyhow, CTV confirmed this week that Jillian MacLaughlin and Emmett Blois, who recently split before the start of the season, have taken part in the fourth season of the show. This is the first time that there has been a crossover between the two series, which surprises us somewhat given that they air on rival networks. However, they do come from the same production house, so we presume that is where some of the connective tissue here really comes from.
So how could these two fare on this show? We picked Jillian to win her first reality TV show, and the temptation is already there for her to win the second, provided that her and Emmett are of the “exes that still get along” variety and not the “exes who can’t stand being around each other” sort. That’ll doom them no matter how good they are physically. What benefits them is that they’re both physical beasts, while Jillian being in particular one of the strongest female challenge performers we’ve seen in any season, whether it be in the US or Canada.
Also, do we think that their reality TV experience could prove to be an asset? While it’s clear that these are two very different shows, at the same exact time knowing how production works and being able to tune out the cameras are things that could help them on this show.
The new season premieres on June 28. Excited? Then share in the comments, or head over here to get some other TV news on all we cover, sent right over to you via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CTV.)
