‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 9: Wun Wun the Giant leads the charge

Sunday night’s “Game of Thrones” is going to be one of the biggest battles to date on the show in “The Battle of the Bastards,” and on the show moving forward everyone is going to be getting involved in some way … and that includes Wun Wun the Giant. You saw him commit to the cause the last time the show focused on the north, and the photo above shows him ready and willing to wreck stuff up in a big way during the fight.

Is Wun Wun going to be the force to turn the tide in Winterfell in order to secure it for House Stark? We’re not entirely sure we can say that, but we think he’s a huge asset (for obvious reasons) and also a distraction for Ramsay Bolton’s army. Of course, we do wish that we’d get to see more about the giants in general on this show since we know so little about them … but at the same time we’re not really sure we will ever get that. This isn’t really about the mythology of all of the different races that exist in Westeros and beyond.

Can we envision a situation in which the giant is chopped down to size? Unfortunately yes, mostly because, to use another horrible giant pun, he’s the biggest target out there! While he was able to withstand some other battles, sooner or later all must fall … especially when your show has the guts to get rid of someone in Hodor who was very much beloved in his own way.
