‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: Claire Foley not returning as Ivy, role being recast
There is some breaking news when it comes to “Gotham” season 3, and it is easy as this: The new Ivy is going to be very different from the old version of the character.
According to a report from TVLine, actress Claire Foley is not going to be returning as the infamous character from the DC Comics world, who we first met on the show not too far into the series’ run. Instead, she will be replaced by an actor who will be playing a more mature version of the woman who goes on to become one of the most infamous villains in the show’s universe in Poison Ivy.
The original version of Ivy was not exactly a one-for-one with the one that we met within the pages of the comic books; as a matter of fact, the original Poison Ivy went by the name of Pamela Lillian Isley instead of this one. The show has clearly gotten somewhat liberal when it comes to how they’ve went about adapting this character, and we wonder if this new version means that they’ll either try to rewrite history somewhat, or opt instead to give some sort of super-creative reason behind the character looking much older than she has.
This new version, no matter what the producers opt to do, will be a series regular. “Gotham” season 3 overall will be premiering come September, so be sure to stay tuned for some further updates! A good place to look for some of these is over at the link here.
