Tonight, the fifth season of “Major Crimes” will be premiering officially on TNT, and there is going to be quite a bit going on in terms of cases. There always is. However, with this show you know that there are going to be a few major personal developments to go along with that, and based on what we’re hearing right now, Buzz is going to have a lot going on courtesy of some events from his past.
In setting up this story, and also hinting for a moment or two about what could be happening with Sharon later this season, executive producer James Duff had the following to say to TVLine:
“I would say the character with the most on their plate is actually Buzz, because — and we’ve established this in previous seasons — his father and his uncle were murdered, and he’s gone to great lengths to get the files on that case. That’s the story that plays out through the season, and everybody gets involved in it. I would also say that, as the season progresses, Sharon ends up having a great deal on her plate in terms of where the eventual power lies inside the department. I can’t say more than that on that issue, but she does end up with sort of a big problem.”
Duff also made it clear that while Sharon and Andy are at present together, there would also be some challenges coming up for them. It’s nothing to immediately press the panic button on, but it’s at least something to be aware of.
