‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 8 preview: Thinking on a (possible) Jaime – Brienne reunion

Could we be coming close to seeing Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth back together on one place again? Based on the latest photo below for Sunday night’s “Game of Thrones,” it seems as though it is possible.

In this photo, you can clearly see Gwendoline Christine’s character standing in front of what appears to be a House Lannister banner. We already knew that her latest mission could have her crossing paths with Jaime, and given that the show is well aware of the sort of affection that surrounds these two characters, it would be odd for them to not try to acknowledge and cater to this in some way.

Of course, one of the more interesting questions we have at the moment regarding this potential reunion is whether or not there will be any sort of amicability to it at all given what we know about these two characters, where they are at, and what they are trying to accomplish. Their interests are not entirely aligned, and we certainly don’t see Brienne betraying Sansa Stark. Meanwhile, we also don’t see Jaime moving away from House Lannister of Cersei at this point.

Ultimately, as great of fan service as this moment could be if Jaime and Brienne do cross paths one more, the reality still here is that it is difficult to really imagine a meeting of the two that happens without something bad happening by the end of it. We’ll have a chance to learn a little bit more come Sunday night’s episode.
