‘Sherlock’ season 4 filming returns to Cardiff with Benedict Cumberbatch
There have been all sorts of interesting rumors out there regarding “Sherlock” season 4, whether it be potential filming locations or talk about who certain guest actors are going to play.
When it comes to much of that, we probably are going to continue to do our best for the most part to remain mum, mostly because we don’t want to be the sort of person to spoil the fun of anything! Instead, we will talk about just what sort of strain Benedict Cumberbatch and the cast are putting on themselves in order to make this new season as great as it can be … and it involves in part filming in the early hours of the morning.
According to a report from Wales Online, Cumberbatch was spotted as late (or as early?) as 4:00 a.m. filming scenes for this new season, which is certainly a remarkable commitment! Also, filming was taking place in Cardiff, which is serving as the primary home base this season. There are three episodes in total being filmed, and they could contain some classic Sherlock adaptations mixed with a little bit of new material.
As for a premiere date, we’re still waiting! It’s possible that we could end up seeing the show back on the air a little bit later this year, but we think the most realistic scenario here is to see new episodes starting in January. This is a timeslot that has done the show many favors in the past, so there is really no reason for BBC One or PBS to change things up.
